Jan Nutter Alpert has the following in her records for William: "While there are no records connecting him to the sons listed on his family page , he lived in the West Parish of Dover, N.H. in 1753, the same Parish which became part of Madbury, N.H. when that town was created in 1754, Madbury, N.H. is known to have been the residence of the Brown brothers, further, The names Wiliam, Joseph and James are continued in the Brown family for several generations, no will or deeds for him have emerged. He was probably dead by the 1770's, when his sons moved out of Madbury, N.H."
