Mary Elizabeth Wright
Mrs. Mary Wright, the devoted wife of James T Wright, died at her home just southwest of Marshall, at 11:00 o'clock Monday morning, January 19, 1920, after an illness of a week's duration of pneumonia.
Deceased was the eldest daughter of the late Isaac and Sally Horton. She was in the 68th year of her age.
She is survived by the following children; Mrs. Dona Leslie, Mrs. Pell Parks, Mrs. Tusie Oneal, of Marshall; Mrs. Maud Horton, of Bear Creek; Thomas Wright, Mrs. Bertha Lindsey, Mrs. Rosy Dyer, Mrs. Leslie Shipman, of Marshall. Also the following brothers and sisters; J G Horton, Joan Horton (might be John A), H P Horton, W W Horton, Mrs. W H Jennings, Mrs. B E Ward, of Marshall, and Mrs. T M Melton, of Pyatt, Ark. Deceased is also survived by 38 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The funeral was preached by Rev. J G Hammock, and interment took place in the Canaan Cemetery Tuesday afternoon, in the presence of a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends.
"Aunt Mary" had been a devoted Christian and member of the Baptist Church for the past fifty years. She was a kind neighbor, devoted wife and loving mother. All who have come in contact with her beautiful character realize that the world has lost a woman who was always striving toward the uplifting pathway of truth and right.

Obituary of Sister Mary E Wright was born in Searcy County, Arkansas, December 13, 1851. On the 12th day of October 1872, she gave herself in marriage to James T Wright.
Unto the happy couple were born eleven children -- ten daughters and one son. Her evening sun set on the 19th January 1920.
