Ann Armenia "Orlenia" Curtis, daughter of Josiah Curtis and Sarah Hawkins, daughter of William Hawkins born in NC 1763. She was born, 20 January 1832, in McNairy County, Tennessee. She died, 14 September 1879, in Searcy County, Arkansas. Her birth and death dates are from Alvin's Family Bible, in possession of the Teel family. Her name, given on the wedding papers (Cedar marriage records page 17) dated 25 December 1847, Cedar County, near Gasconade County, Missouri. Her family moved to Missouri before 1840. They lived in Tennessee in 1830 census. Her father was born in North Carolina The name Armenia not common. I did find Anna Armenia Curtis in early Connecticut record the first Curtis to arrive was John Curtis, from England on the ship "Lion" 16 Sep. 1632. Betsy Curtis married Westley Shockley 15 Aug. 1835 in Gasconade County, Missouri. Was this the sister of Anna? She died in Searcy County, Arkansas 14 September 1879, and is buried at Witts Springs Cemetery.
