Individual Details
Thomas Alexander Brannon
(4 Apr 1723 - May 1804)
Thomas Brannon is listed as a Revolutionary Soldier in the Johnston County Court
Records. He and several others were dismissed in the county records (they
called it a court martial) as being "too old". He is not able to be listed as a DAR ancestor because the North Carolina Military Records state that no one over fifty could enlist. His dismissal was considered a "moot question" as he never should have been allowed to join in the first place. He must have been pretty tough to have joined the military when he was over 50 years old.
