Individual Details
Edward Logsdon
(1709 - Abt 1799)
Some researchers suggest that Edward may have been born as early as 1705, or 1709. There is also suggestions that he was actually born at the Brotherly Love Estate. Edward and Sarah lived in the area of Baltimore and later in Frederick Co., Maryland. Edward served in West Virginia militia during the Revolutionary War. Late in life, he moved to Kentucky with son Edward Jr. He is listed as a Private on Captain Thomas Norris' muster Rolls in 1759 along with his brothers John and Thomas Logsdon. He is one of the sons listed in 1742 as selling the land tract called "Brotherly Love" which was originally owned by his father, William Logsdon.

[The manuscript from which the following list is taken, is a book of 109 pages which apparently, was made up for the Committee on Accounts of the General Assembly of Maryland. It is undated but on page 28 of the MSS. is the entry "To Capt. Elias Delashmut's Muster Roll, August 13th 1757"; and further on there is an account for services in 1758. It will be noted that this is a record of actual services. The first seven pages are given over to the claims of those on whom soldiers were quartered, while the remainder is devoted almost exclusively to muster rolls.--ED.]
