James Wood was born in 1782 in Burke, North Carolina. (Continuing my research on James's parents.) He married Martha Miller in 1810. Martha is the daughter of Revolutionary War Patriot Mordecai and Isabel Adair Miller.
James and Martha's documented children:William, Isabella Wood Treat, Elizabeth Wood Reece, Jackson A, Sarah Frances Wood Treat, Pamelia (Milly), Samuel Jasper, Mary, James Marion. There may have been others.
1850 census lists Martha and James living in Campbell, Searcy County, Arkansas. James' occupation is listed as a Christian Preacher.
He is not listed in the 1860 census with Martha.
However, the 1870 census list a James Wood born in North Carolina age 88 living with the young family of Frank Barnes in Wright, Missouri?? Please info me if you have documented info on James Wood. Who is Frank Barnes??
