J N Horton died at St. Vincent's Infirmary, Little Rock, Sunday, June 11, at 4 p.m. The remains arrived in Marshall, Tuesday, and interment took place in the new cemetery one mile east of Marshall, Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock.
Mr. Horton was stricken with an acute attack of appendicitis May 25th, and on June 6th was taken to Little Rock, where he was operated upon, but only survived a short time. He is survived by his wife and one stepdaughter.
Mr. Horton was the senior member of the mercantile firm of J N Horton & Co. He was an energetic, conscientious, honest, progressive, business man, and had many friends. He was good to his family and honest in his dealings with his business associates and all others.
