Robert Glenn Lloyd, 81, of Furlow passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014. He was born in Bear Creek, AR. He was the son of Lillie E. Lloyd Drewry.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, his step-father, Harvey G. Drewry and son Patrick W. Lloyd .
Robert was a dedicated member of Faith Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Active member of the Golden Agers and Tuesday night domino group. He had a passion for missionaries and mission work.
Robert retired in 1994 after 33 years with the US Army Corps of Engineers. During his career he worked on the construction project for the Beaver Dam. He enjoyed 10 of these years with the European Division in Frankfurt, Germany. He was a sweet loving man, always met people with a warm smile, hand shake or hug, loved by many.
He is survived by his wife Julia Anita of Furlow, daughters, Robbie (Phil) Capel of Sherwood, Holly (Steve) Hartung of North Little Rock, son, Rodney (Laura) Lloyd of Furlow. His grandchildren, Andy (Ashley) Capel, Mark Capel, Sierra (Blake) Robinson, Bragen (Paige) Lloyd, and Casey Lloyd. Step-grandchildren Christy (Kyle) Strange and Matt Rhodes and great-grandchildren Kensley and Holland Capel and Cayden Robinson also other survivors his brothers, Dee (Lou) Lloyd, Lloyd (Sharon) Drewry and a sister Jeannie (Ronnie) McDaniel and nephews and niece, and a host friends.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, February 21, 2014 at Faith Baptist Church ,109 Tanglewood, North Little Rock, AR 72118 with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be at 3 p.m., Friday at Bear Creek Cemetery in Marshall.
