(1 Dec 1826 - 1910)
From www.findagrave.com
James Monroe McCutcheon was the son of Ezekiel Norris McCutcheon and Nancy Melvina Hale. He was married twice. He married his first wife, Louisa Elizabeth Parker, about 1846 in Giles, Tennessee. They had nine children. His second wife was Sarah Ann Martin. They were married February 19, 1873 in Newton, Arkansas. They had two children: Angus Jackson MCCutcheon and Alexander Campbell "Alex" McCutcheon.
It is not known whether James McCutcheon married in Tennessee, or Arkansas. It seems he did not come to Arkansas in 1843 when his father did, but later in 1847, when he was about 20 years old. It is believed he married Louisa Parker before he came to Arkansas. James McCutcheon settled on Cave Creek, Newton County, Arkansas, in 1852. He was living under a bluff or cave, with another family. There is a color drawing of the "Rock House on Cave Creek, Newton, Arkansas" by the artist, David Dale Owen, that is of James' house.
Sometime after 1910 James went to Cave Creek, Newton, Arkansas to visit relatives and died there.
