Notes
Birth
John Helmer's birth date and/or birthplace were erroneously reported in his obituaries in the Littleton Independent of of 28 Jan 1944 and the Record Journal of 4 Feb 1944, Portrait & Biographical Record of Denver & Vicinity (page 1280) and the 2015 Douglas County Historical Calendar.John immigrated with his parents in May 1859 and the CONSTELLATION ship's passenger list shows his age as 7 years. This corroborates his birthplace as Austria, not New Jersey and his birth date of 1851.
Marriage
Colorado Statewide Marriage Index record says Denver County, but Denver in Arapahoe County in 1890.Also the date may be incorrect as all other sources indicate marriage was in 1888.
