Notes
Marriage
Suspect Benjamin and Myrta were married in 1893, because newspaper citation for Myrta and James Killon was from 1893 -- SB18 September 2019. The Colorado County Marriage Records and State Index, 1862-2006 clearly records James M. Killam and Myrtle Wheeler were married on 23 Jul 1893 in Denver, Colorado. Their son Elmer Edward was born 21 December 1893, six months after the wedding date. It seems reasonable to assume, but not proven, that they were divorced soon after the birth of Elmer and she remarried the following 23 July 1894 to Benjamin F. Pedego (Pedigo). If that assumption is correct, the 13 November 1908 obituary of Benjamin incorrectly lists their marriage date in 1893, not 1894. This is further supported by the 1900 U.S. Census, Franktown, Douglas, Colorado in which they are shown as married for 6 years (1894). RPE
