Burial

Obituary: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2013 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Bettie Broussard Jeffers, 80, who died May 31, 2013 in Crowley. Fr. Jared Suire, associate pastor to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church will be officiating for the services with Fr. Gary Schexnayder, pastor of St. Elizabeth Seaton Catholic Church in Lafayette con-celebrating. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to the time of service. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. She is survived by three daughters, Bettie-Rae Jeffers Mader and her husband, Burton of Bentonville, AR, Tanya Jeffers Patton of Crowley, and Donna Jeffers Branham of Lake Charles; one sister Jackie Broussard Keyes of Crowley; ten grandchildren, Franchelle Mader Jaeger of Little Rock, AR, Burton Jeffers Mader of Birmingham, AL, Brie Mader Head of Nashville, TN, Cpt. Jonathan Mader of Tacoma, WA, Jarod Mader of Little Rock, AR, Jacob Mader of Little Rock, AR, Megan Branham of Lake Charles, Nicholas Patton of Crowley, Lauren Patton of Crowley, and Matthew Patton of Crowley; and eight great-granchildren, Ward Jaeger, Alex Jaeger, Evan Jaeger, Ayla Branham, Colton Verheyden, Julia Head, Sophia Mader, and Joseph Head. Mrs. Jeffers is preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Ray Jeffers, her parents, Clyde H. and Edmay Benoit Broussard; one sister, Marie Mae Broussard West; one brother, Caesar Clyde Broussard; one grandson, Michael Patton; and one son-in-law, Sam Patton. Pallbearers will be Stanley Keyes, Jeff Mader, Cpt. Jonathan Mader, Jarod Mader, Jacob Mader, and Dr. Matthew Jaeger. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Bettie Jeffers name to the American Cancer Society. The family would like to thank Jenny Prevost and the rest of the staff of Heart of Hospice for their care during Mrs. Jeffers illness.
