Death
Obituary: EUNICE - Anita Lee Hoffpauir Voinche, 84, died on Saturday, June 2, 2007 after a battle with cancer. Mrs. Voinche was born on September 15, 1922 and was a 1939 graduate of Crowley High School. She was a respected member of the community and volunteered countless hours over many years to several organizations and activities throughout the City of Eunice and St. Landry Parish. Mrs. Voinche was an active volunteer at her children's schools including Our Lady of Fatima, Lafayette, Cathedral Carmel, Lafayette, and St. Edmund, Eunice. She was a member of the Pink Ladies at Moosa Memorial Hospital (Acadian Medical Center) and spent many years involved in the Eunice Player's Theater, Junior Deputy Program, LSUE Athletic Foundation, member of the LSUE Bengal Booster Club, St. Landry Parish Triad member and Eunice Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Voinche was selected as the Chamber Person of the Year in 1995. Throughout her life, “Miss Anita,” as people affectionately called her, was a dedicated promoter and supporter of her hometown of Eunice and enjoyed spending time with countless citizens and friends. Mrs. Voinche was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Voinche, Sr. (Sept. 14, 1918-Sept. 27, 2001) her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore U. Hoffpauir, her brother, Theodore U. Hoffpauir, Jr., and her sister, Marilyn Joyce Pinder. She is survived by her loving children, Mrs. Donald Wayne (Marjorie Ann Voinche) Rayburn of Mississippi; Thomas Carver Voinche, Jr. and his wife and beloved daughter-in-law Bonnie (Lewis) Voinche of Eunice; John Dean Voinche and his wife and beloved daughter-in-law Patricia (Williams) Voinche of Baton Rouge; and Barbara Lynn Voinche of Lafayette. Mrs. Voinche is also survived by 12 loving grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews from Texas. Mrs. Voinche has donated her remains to the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. A memorial mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Eunice on Saturday, June 9, 2007 beginning at 11 a.m. In keeping with Mrs. Voinche's charitable donation tradition, the family encourages memorial donations to the LeDoux Library at LSUE or the Eunice branch of the St. Landry Parish Library. The family offers sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone who has provided support, prayers and comfort during Mrs. Voinche's illness. Very special thanks and loving appreciation is offered to Ms. Elva Miller for her loving and endless dedication to the Voinche family for many years. Also, a special thank you to the staff of Louisiana Hospice of Mamou (especially Rose and Raquel), Dr. Brent Ardoin, Dr. Hossam Abdel-Rahman, Dr. and Mrs. Frank Savoy, the late Dr. John Roy Andrus, Dr. Reginald Segar, Fr.
