Death
Obituary: Memorial services will be held Monday, June 11 at 4 p.m. at Cypress United Methodist Church in Cypress for Edward Gene Hoffpauir, 68, who died Thursday, June 7. Born in Ville Platte, he grew up in Lake Charles, and graduated from Marion High School. He served honorably in the Louisiana National Guard, participating in humanitarian relief efforts following the devastation of Hurricane Audry in 1957. He moved to Houston in 1963 and worked for Cameron Iron Works for more than 40 years. He was a Past Worshipful Master of Sam B. Crawford Masonic Lodge No. 1418 and a member of Cypress Masonic Lodge No. 1423. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church. Survivors include his children, Chris Hoffpauir and wife Sharan, Kevin Hoffpauir and wife Norma, and Kurt Hoffpauir; their mother Frances Hoffpauir; brother James Hoffpauir and his wife Rocio, and sister Cynthia Fontenot and husband Wayne; and grandchildren Kelsey, Eric, Grace, John, Mary, Brooke, Clara, Trey and Brandon.
