Willard Wayne "Sambo" Foreman

Obituary: WILLARD WAYNE "SAMBO" FOREMAN SR., 75, died at 1:43 a.m. Monday at Lafayette General Medical Center. Funeral serviceswere held at a 2 p m mass Tuesday in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers. The Rev. Luiz Duta, Catholic Deaf Center, officiated. Interment was in Indian Bayou Cemetery. He was a native of Ridge, son of the late Adam Thomas Foreman and the former Ella Mae Spell. He was a watch repairman, having worked in Baton Rouge at Gordon's Jewelry and Rider's jewelry Stores from 1947 until 1959 when he moved to Lafayette. In Lafayette he worked for Gordon's Jewelry and Clark's Jewelry until 1969 when he became self employed. He was a member of the National Fraternity For The Deaf, Catholic Deaf Center International Catholic Deaf Association, the Louisiana Association For the Deaf, having served as president. Survivors include his wife, the former Anna Primeaux, Lafayette; three daughters, Mrs Paul (Linda) Ducote, Houston, Mrs Wally (Ella Mae) Anderson, New Orleans and Mrs. Charles (Mary) Adams, Maurice; one son, Willard Wayne Foreman Jr., Delcambre; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Mayo, Mike and J.Y. Foreman and three sisters, Inez Rabalis Annie Belle Labbe, and Addie Foreman.
