Obituary: Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monday, December 12, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. for Rhuel "Black" Albert Hoffpauir, Sr., 84 who died Friday, December 9, 2011 in Rayne. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne. Surviving are his daughter, Mary Evelyn Blanchard and husband Donald of Midland, son, Rhuel A. Hoffpauir, Jr. of Baton Rouge, 5 grandchildren, Danon Hoffpauir, Shaun Hoffpauir, Jared Blanchard, Lindsey B. Williams and Hollie Blanchard, 3 great-grandchildren, Lilly Blanchard, William Blanchard and Samuel Blanchard, three brothers, Merlin John Hoffpauir and wife Paola of Sicily, Italy, Eddie Hoffpauir and wife Martha of Mire and Horace Hoffpauir and wife Cathy of Scott. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys LeBlanc Hoffpauir and by his parents Rhuel R. Hoffpauir and Alice Alleman Hoffpauir; one sister Joyce Hoffpauir and one brother Roland Hoffpauir. He was born Tuesday, September 13, 1927 in Rayne, LA, Son of the late Rhuel R. Hoffpauir and the late Alice Alleman Hoffpauir. Friends will be received 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M., Sunday, December 11 and 8:00 A.M. until Services Monday, December 12, 2011. at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, LA. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 P.M. on Sunday.
