Obituary: RAYNE - Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Saturday, February 13, 2010, at 1 p.m., for Grace Theresa Arceneaux Hoffpauir, 83, who died Wednesday, February 10, 2010, in Southwind Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Crowley, LA. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne, LA. Surviving are thee nephews, Willie P. Arceneaux, Jr., Alvin Karl Hoffpauir, and Don Kevin Hoffpauir; three nieces, Vicki Lynn H. Weldon, Donna Gay H. Muth, Anita Marie H. Wofford; five great nieces, Natalie Arceneaux, Jeanne Arceneaux, Terri L. Lambert, Rhonda L. Edmonds, and Lesley L. Templet; two great nephews, Stacy D. Ancelet, and Jason E. Lambert; numerous great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Don Hoffpauir; parents, Edward Arceneaux and Leah Sonnier Arceneaux; two brothers, Forest Arceneaux and Willie P. Arceneaux, Sr.; threes niece, Dolores A. Ancelet, Barbara A. Lambert, and Bonnie H. Jones. She was born Saturday, September 18, 1926 in Rayne, LA, daughter of the late Edward Arceneaux and the late Leah Sonnier Arceneaux. Mrs. Grace Theresa Arceneaux Hoffpauir was a graudate of of Rayne High School Class of 1943. She married Gerald Don Hofffpauir, March 22, 1950 moved to Sulphur and lived thier for over 50 years. She enjoyed being with her friends and participating in many hobbies such as exercising, cooking, baking,entertaining, basketmaking, traveling, reading poetry and being an active member in her church Our Lady of LaSalette Church, in Sulphur, La. She was also a memeber of the Sulphur Ladies Auxillary VFW for Our Lady of LaSalette Church in Sulphur, La. Mrs. Grace was honored on April 26, 1981 by the Diocese of Lake Charles receiving the Bishop Devoted Service Award. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her great niece Natalie Arceneaux for her care and devotion throughout her illness. Friends and family who visited, encouraged and comforted Mrs. Grace are also appreciated. Mrs. Hoffpauirs family would like to extended a thank you to Dr. Blanchet of Acadiana Medical Oncology, Lafayette, LA, Dr. Harwood of Oncologics, Inc., Crowley, La., Dr.Curtis of Acadiana Family Medical Practice, Rayne, La. as well as the faculty and staff of Southwind Nursing Center in Crowley, LA. Friends will be received Friday from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until service at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, LA.
