Obituary: DUSON - Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in Delhomme Funeral Chapel of the Flowers - Bertrand, for Joyce Hoffpauir Michel with Reverend Susan Ferguson, Associate Pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church, and Lafayette with burial to follow in Indian Bayou Methodist Church. Mrs. Michel, a resident of Judice Community and was the daughter of the late Daniel Ivy Hoffpauir and the former Edith Della. She was the loving wife of 59 years to James I. Michel. She was a graduate of Lacassine High School and graduated from the University of Louisiana Lafayette (SLI). Joyce was an elementary teacher for 20 years with the Lafayette Parish School Board who also was a published and accomplished author in children's books. She is survived by three children; James Keith Michel and his wife Kimberly, Daniel Joseph Michel and his wife Karen, and Julie Michel Ledet and her husband Stuart; five grandchildren and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dan Edith and brothers, Archie Gene and James. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 8:00 AM until time of funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Bryan Scholarship Fund, 4205 Ryan Street, Lake Charles, LA 70605.
