Burial
Obituary - INDIAN BAYOU - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2001, at Indian Bayou Methodist Church for Dollie Spell Perry who died at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. The Rev. Ross Genger, pastor of Indian Bayou Methodist Church, will conduct the services. Interment will take place in the Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery. Mrs. Perry, a native of Indian Bayou, was the daughter of the late Ornan Spell and the former Laura Hoffpauir. Survivors include three sons, Jesse Perry Jr. and wife, Jan of Houston, Gerald Perry and wife, Suzanne of Lake Charles and Byron Perry and wife, Carolyn of Carencro; one daughter, Dorothy Fay Brown of Hot Springs, Ark.; one brother, Aldenlee Spell of Doylestown, Pa.; one sister, Betty S. Clark of Seabrook, Texas; eight grandchildren, Chan Perry, Duane Perry, Lane Perry, Chris Perry, Kim Perry, Laurie Perry, Craig Perry, Jill Perry; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesse Perry Sr.; three sisters; and three brothers. Mrs. Perry taught at Indian Bayou School for 34 years. She was very active in church and taught Sunday school. She was also active in United Methodist Women where she served as past president. Memorial contributions may be made to Indian Bayou Methodist Church, Covenant United Methodist Church, 300 E. Martial, Lafayette, LA 70508. Visitation hours will be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home in Lafayette from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from10 a.m. Friday until time of the services.
