Burial
Obituary: Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Wayne Vizena will be at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2009 in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Oberlin with Father Felix Anyikwa officiating. Interment will follow in Oberlin Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin. Mr. Vizena, 67, of Oberlin, entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 26, 2009 in Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. Jerry was a United States Air Force Veteran. He retired from the USDA with over twenty-five years of service. He was preceded in death by one son, James Kyle Vizena and his parents, Jervy and Irene Vizena. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife to forty-seven years, Glenda H. Vizena of Oberlin; one son, Joel Kevyn Vizena and his wife, Kalyn of Indian Bayou; two brothers, Joseph K. Vizena and his wife, Mona of Lafayette and Robert D. Vizena of Lake Charles; two sisters, Carolyn Fontenot and her husband, Steven of Oberlin and Charlotte Colomb and her husband, Dr. Keith Colomb of Lafayette and two grandchildren, Jarren Kyle Vizena and Alayna Nicole Vizena.. Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin on Saturday, November 28, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and on Sunday, November 29, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until departure for the church for a 3:30 p.m. service.
