Burial
Obituary: Mrs. Evelyn Hoffpauir Wagnon, 100, of Jennings passed away at 8:20 p.m.,Thursday, September 16, 2010 in the Jeff Davis Living Center in Jennings. She was born on August 21, 1910 in Estherwood, LA to Ellis and Sue SpellHoffpauir. Mrs. Wagnon moved to Jennings in 1936 with her husband Martin Wagnon. Shegraduated from Estherwood High School, received her BA from SLI (ULL) andMasters from LSU. She taught school for 29 years and was principal at Northside Elementary for eight years. She was a longtime member of the Jennings UnitedMethodist Church where she participated in many church activities. She was amember of Delta Kappa Gamma Society, and served as State President during the1967-1969 term. Mrs. Wagnon is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sistersand four brothers. Visitation will be held today, Sunday, Sept. 19 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.at the Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings. Services will be held at the JenningsUnited Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 20, with Rev. TedFreeland officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
