INDIAN BAYOU - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at Indian Bayou United Methodist Church for Robert Gordon LeDoux, 85, who was peacefully lifted into the loving arms of Jesus at 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004. Gordon was born May 4, 1919 in Indian Bayou to Robert P. and Daisy H. LeDoux. He graduated from Indian Bayou High School in 1937 and attended S.L.I. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1941 and attained the rank of Sergeant, serving at Barksdale Air Force Base until his honorable discharge in 1945. He served on the Vermilion Parish School Board from 1964 until 1980. Gordon was a past president of the Indian Bayou Volunteer Fire Department, current treasurer of the Indian Bayou High Alumni Association and a member of the Oddfellows Lodge of Crowley. He was a loyal and dedicated member of the Indian Bayou United Methodist Church, serving in various leadership roles. Gordon was a retired rice farmer. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and trusted friend. He loved everyone and in return was loved by all. He leaves behind wonderful memories for his beloved wife of 57 years, Almeda Hoffpauir LeDoux; three daughters, Wanda Faulk, Jeanette Morgan and Carol Bastian, all of Indian Bayou; nine grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; and countless family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; his little brother, Carrol Byrne LeDoux; and his son-in-law, Errol Faulk. Visitation was observed from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday and will continue from 8 a.m. today until time of services at Indian Bayou United Methodist Church.
