INDIAN BAYOU - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2002, at a service in the Indian Bayou Methodist Church for Lula Belle Cain Harson, 89, who died at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will be in the Indian Bayou Cemetery. The Rev. Ross Genger, pastor of Indian Bayou Methodist Church, will conduct the services.
Survivors include one son, Thomas R. Harson and his wife, Betty Smith Harson, of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Tara Harson Eastep, of Baton Rouge, and Eric Harson, of Lafayette; and two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Matthew Eastep, both of Baton Rouge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elie Harson; her parents; two sisters, Ethel Vincent and Nevada Bellard; and three brothers, Culver, Wilbur and Elmo Cain. A native of Indian Bayou, Mrs. Harson was a resident of Lafayette for 60 years. She was the daughter of the late Richard Cain, a native of Texas, and the former Stella Hoffpauir, a native of Lafayette Parish. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Harson was employed as an LPN at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center for 29 years. Mrs. Harson was a member of the Indian Bayou Methodist Church. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Saturday until time of the services. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Harson's name may be made to the Indian Bayou Methodist Church, Route 2, Box 243, Rayne, LA 70578.
