LANDRY, ELPHEGE JOSEPH "E.J." A section supervisor for Exxon Co. USA, he retired in 1980 with 39 years of service. A lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 84 and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater. Visiting at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Thursday, celebrated by the Rev. Miles D. Walsh. Entombment in Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carrie Pace "Jean" Landry; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Jules "Bobby" and Mary Ann Landry; a brother, Louis Landry, all of Baton Rouge; two granddaughters, Lisa Landry Bardwell and husband Chuck of Baton Rouge and Dena Landry Nezat and husband Brad of Prairieville; a grandson, Craig Landry and wife Denise of Gonzales; and five great-grandchildren, Kayla and Marisa Bardwell, Ashley Landry and Chelsea and Amber Nezat. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jules F. Sr. and Elizabeth Désposito Landry; three brothers, Jules, Ned and Clarence Landry; and two sisters, Lucille Couvillon and Agnes Landry. Pallbearers will be Craig Landry, Chuck Bardwell, Brad Nezat, John Eiswirth, Jim Fernandez, Harold Couvillon and W.L. Green. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and various church ministries, Knights of Columbus Council 969 and was a 1937 graduate of Catholic High School.
