Individual Details
Rachel Foreman
(16 May 1797 - )
Comment: This "may" be the same Rachel Foreman that married Asa Foreman. If so, they were first cousins. On the other hand, some have decided that Rachel was the daughter of Edward Foreman and Rebecca Racsoe. If that were the case, then Rachel would have married her nephew. I think it much more likely that first cousins have married, especially since my paternal grandparents were first cousins.
The confusion is because of an entry in Father Hebert's SWLR. It states: FORMAN, Rachel (Edward & Rebecca RASCO) b. 16 May 1797, bt. Tuesday, 8 May 1798 Spons: Jean GRADENIGO & Marguerite KREPS. Fr. Pedro de ZAMORA (Opel. Ch.: v.1-A, p.197)
Some have taken this to mean that Rachel was the daughter of Edward Forman (Senior) and Rebecca. However, my interpretation is that Hebert has listed the recorded grandparents as the parents.

Notes
Birth
Note, Father Hebert in SWLR records the parents of Rachel as Edward and Rebecca Rascoe. This information is incorrect. The Grandparents were listed in the marginal notes of the Protestant marriage records, and these were misinterpreted as the parents.Endnotes
1. Donald J. Hébert, SWLR Vol 01, 226.
2. 1850 census of Lafayette Parish.
3. Anita McDougle Richmond.
