The family of Yves Crochet was at L'Anse-an Matelot, Ile St. Jean in 1752. They were deported to Rochefort after the capitulation of Louisbourg on July 26, 1758. Yves Crochet and his wife Pelagie arrived at St. Malo on October 1, 1759 (transferred from Rochefort). With them were Gregoire 15, Daniel 10, Anne 13, and Marguerite Benoist 8, Pelagie's brothers and sisters. While in France the family lived in the following parishes: Megrit, 1759-1761; St. Servan, 1762-1764; Megrit, 1765-1767; St. Servan, 1767-1768; Megrit, 1769-1772. Yves died 11/23/1773 and was buried 11/24/1773 at Megrit, FranceThe ship L'Amite left Nantes 8/12/1785 arriving in New Orleans 11/7/1785, carrying Yves widow Pelagie Benoist and her children Jean, Yves, Julien, Francoise, and Marguerite Crochet. They are recorded as family number 19.
