Soloman Morgan
(Abt 1770 - 1860)
More research is needed to determine if Solomon Morgan was in Mississippi before going on to La. Some researchers say he was and has descendants in Miss. He was about 45 years old when he married Anne Faulk in 1815 . The last reference about him in the Ebenezer Church was in1810. Any researchers should note that we are not certain that these following comments apply to THIS particular Soloman Morgan.
"Ebenezer Baptist Church Minutes, Amite County, Mississippi (1807-1907).....
October 31, 1807: Met in conference. Rec'd by letter Solomon Morgan from Ebenezer Church, Darlington District, S. Carolina.
December 31, 1808: Met in conference. The following members, viz, Hardy Brian, Solomon Morgan, Isham Nettles, Richard Story, Charles Barfield, Benjamin Brown, & James Mumford. Taken under consideration those Members laid under Suspense, Namely, Mark Cole, Hannah Cole, & Laban Bacot. Motion being made, whether they Should be continued in the Church, it is unanimously agreed to Exclude them from the Church. John Courtney is continued till further consideration.
June 30, 1810: Met in conference. The case of Brother Solomon Morgan being duly considered, the said Morgan is excommunicated for vulgar Language and improper charge against his wife."
