There were two Lapointe girls born at about the same time to different families. Marguerite was born to Pierre Lapointe and Marguerite Meaux.... bt. 11 June 1827 at age 3 mths 25 days(Laf. Ch. v. 3, p. 4, # 11) and Marguerite born to ---- Lapointe and Marie Adeline Landry on 21 Jan 1828 (Laf. Ch. v. 3, p. 64) I have yet to determine which Marguerite married Charles, and which one married William Harrington.
In the marriage record, this Marguerite's name was spelled Margaret, and it was mentioned that she was from France. This seems doubtful, however, according to a note in "The Descendants of Benager Spell and Dorethea Foreman", Miss LaPointe came originally from France, and rode horesback from Port Aransas, TX to Indian Bayou, LA.
