Orelia(Aurelia) Marguerite Theriot, daugther of Ubert and Marie Rosalie Romero....b.19 Dec 1837.....1st marriage to Terville Landry ,children Henri,Cecile,and Mathilde. Upon his death,she inherited some 100 acres at Lake Tasse(Spanish Lake) in Iberia Parish. 2nd marriage to Leon Lozes (of Gers, Manciet,France) son of Laurent Lozes and Catherine Logau. on 25 July 1870,no children were born of this union. On 23 Jan. 1886 ,Orelia purchased a large farm from Fanny Perret, 867 arpents located in Coteau Place and later know as Solitude Plantation,Lozes, La. Orelia and Leon farmed sugar cane,sweet potatoes,corn and cotton. Upon the untimely dead of her daughter,Cecile, she took in her four grandchildren: Pierre,Paul,Charles, and Henry(T-Lee) Chastant whose father was Evalture Chastant whom later married Angelle Judice, moved to Loreauville,La and had 6 children. The four Chastant grandchildren all were married and lived on Solitude Plantation. Later on Pierre married Ada Landry and moved to Delcambre,La, Charles married Marie, Paul married Bella Bourque and moved to Lafayette, the youngest grandchild, Henry married Ermance Rouly and always remained on Solitude until their death. Currently, Olga Chastant married to Leonard Breaux are the stewards of the remaining Solitude Plantation located on State Hwy 88 and 89 (Coteau Road) 1st Ward of Iberia Parish in Lozes Community just a short distance to three parish lines:Lafayette,Vermilion and St Martin. While on Solitude Plantion, Mrs.Lozes gave right of ways to the Segura Sugar Tram and Franklin and Abbeville(F & A)Railroad. Later, a parish road named Chastant Road was given on the tract inherited by Henry Chastant. A sulky and thoroughbred race track, , small cotton gin, sugar cane derrick, Lozes railroad depot,large sweet potato kiln, and a plantation store that later became known as Chastant and Breaux General Merchandise... Leon Lozes was founding member of the Aioli Gourmet Society often the subject of artist George Rodrique paintings namely front cover on his book, "The Cajuns". Today the group still meet monthly st Veteran's Park on New Iberia. Mrs. Lozes is included in some these paintings. Orelia's siblings were Mathilde,wife of Joseph Bourriague;. Ezilda,wife of Joseph Romero; Adelia,wife of Manuel Armentor;Joseph,Romuald and Norbert Theriot.
