Burial
Obituary: Raphael "Ray" Louis Johnson, Sr., 54, of Shamrock, TX died on Saturday June 19, 2010. Mr. Johnson was born on September 20, 1955 in Corona, CA. He lived in Sulphur most of his life until moving to Shamrock, TX three years ago. He was a graduate of LaGrange High School. Upon moving to Shamrock, TX, he owned and operated Diamond J Ranch. Mr. Johnson was a member of Our Lady of Lasalette Catholic Church while residing in Sulphur. He was a current member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Shamrock, TX. Mr. Johnson enjoyed woodworking, cooking, being outdoors and mostly, spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by five children and their spouses, Chester Lynn and Kelly Johnson of Jacksonville, FL, Raphael "Ray" Louis, Jr. and Heather Johnson of Rosepine, Eric Wade and Tori Johnson of Iota, LA, Jennifer Nicole and Chris Robinson of Thibodaux, and Mary Elizabeth Johnson of Shamrock, TX; his mother, Bernice Johnson of Lake Charles; four siblings, Deborah Ann Demary of Lake Charles, Inas Joseph Johnson, Jr. of Longville, Patrick Dale Johnson of Desoto, TX, and Theresa Ann Matt of Iowa; and six grandchildren, Haven, Travis, Arden, Hunter, Tanner, and Jake. He was preceded in death by his father, Inas Joseph Johnson, Sr. and a brother, Terry John Johnson. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 26, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Johnny Mounce will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of services with a rosary being recited at 12:30 PM.Endnotes
