Obituary: Valarie Bertrand Cantrell June 6, 1960 - November 1, 2015 Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at First Nazarene Church in Crowley for Valarie Bertrand Cantrell, 55, who died November 1, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette. Rev. Lawrence Cocherell will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to the time of service at First Nazarene Church in Crowley. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Valarie enjoyed sewing for many people, singing in church, and love her dog, Benji. She had a second family at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where she worked as a respiratory therapist for 21 years. She is survived by her husband, Henry Cantrell of Duson; her daughter, Tabby Gary of Duson; her mother, Opal Perry Bertrand Faulk of Crowley; and two sisters, Rebecca Deaville of Richard, and Sandy Decker of Crowley. She is preceded in death by her father, Laurice Mitchell Bertrand; her first husband, Kenneth Paul Gary; one brother, John Nathan Bertrand; her maternal grandparents, Nathan and Mary Keifer Perry; and her paternal grandparents, John and Elute Cormier Bertrand.
