Obituary: LAFAYETTE - Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at 2:00 PM in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers in Lafayette, for Lacey Dugas, 86, who passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at her home in Lafayette. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery.Lacey was the first school cross guard at Madeline and St. Antoine Streets for 30 years. She was very charitable and loved the children in her neighborhood, who called her "Mom". She loved and cared for her children very deeply and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.She is survived by two daughters, Thelma Humphrey and her husband Howard and Gil Dugas; eight grandsons, Greg Fritz, Wilson Fritz, Cecil Fritz, Ronald Vercher, Johnny Vercher, Robley Dugas II, Jeffery Dugas and Troy Humphrey; four granddaughters, Phyllis Crochet, Deedee Dugas, Lynn Norwood and Mindy Dugas; twenty-three great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest Dugas; one daughter, Linda Sonnier; two sons, Ernest James Dugas and Robley Dugas; one grandson, Tommy Dugas and her parents, Gilbert and Lilly Hoffpauir Schexnayder.The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 in Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Tuesday evening. Visiting hours will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the time of service.Pallbearers will be Greg Fritz, Cecil Fritz, Johny Vercher, Brandin Cormier, Joseph Knight and Jacque Fritz.
