Obituary: Arnold Hawk Bayhylle was born on Aug. 21, 1949 in Pawnee to Batiste L. Bayhylle and Anita L. Norman Bayhylle. He passed from this life on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 in Cushing, having reached the age of 56 years, 7 months, and 14 days. He married Pamela Bowdoin on Feb. 14, 1985 in the home of Mike and Kathy Starks in Cushing. He attended Southeastern State College and received his master's degree in education. He has been a teacher with the Cushing Public Schools for 34 years. In 1974 he served as Chief of the Nasharo Council and was the youngest Chief to serve. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and coach. Arnold is survived by his wife, Pamela Bayhylle, Cushing; son, Batiste Bayhylle, Cushing; 3 brothers, Neill Bayhylle and his wife, Judi, Stillwater, and their sons, Brian, Scott and Elliott Bayhylle, Cushing; Joe Bayhylle, Cushing; Maurice Bayhylle and his wife, Gwen, and their daughters, Amanda and Leah, Glenpool; sister, Cheryl Bayhylle and her son, Jordan, Stillwater; plus several other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, Batiste and Anita Bayhylle, and two sisters, Beatrice Butler and Marvena Sexton. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006 at the Pawnee Nation Multi-Purpose Complex with Rev. Duane Pratt officiating. Interment will be at South Indian Cemetery, Pawnee.
