Burial
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at a 1:00 PM Service in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette, for John D. Foreman, age 78, who passed away peacefully on Monday, November 1, 2010 at his residence in Lafayette. Inurnment will be in the Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery, conducted by Reverend Luther Burney. Reverend Dr. Steve Horn, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lafayette, will conduct the Memorial Services. The music will be played and sung by Ramona Carmichael and Jessica Koski. Survivors include his wife, Betty Andrus Foreman; three daughters, Claire Reekie and her husband, Paul Reekie, Jan Schroedter and her husband, Rory Schroedter and Sylvia Foreman; one son, John Dwight Foreman and his wife, Mary; his grandchildren, Aaron Reekie, Nathan Reekie, Ryan Schroedter and Lori Foreman; one brother, Kimball Foreman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emery Foreman and the former, Mary Foreman; and one sister, Audrey Martin. Mr. Foreman was born in Andrew, Louisiana on July 16, 1932 and was a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for most of his life. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Foreman was an Educator in the Lafayette Parish School System. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. Pallbearers will be Dwight Foreman, Jonas Foreman, R. B. Trahan, Connie Moran, Oliver Carmichael, Ken Lee and Rocco Musmeche. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of First Baptist Church and also, Mark White. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Thursday from 11:00 AM to service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Foreman's name to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, Louisiana 70503. The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana for their compassionate care and to Mark White and his family for their support.
