Obituary: Crowley--Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at The Bible Missionary Church in Crowley, La. for Ms. Agnes S. Morgan, 88, who passed away Friday, December 07, 2012 at 4:30 a.m. at her home in Crowley. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Sunday, December 9, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Monday all in the funeral home chapel in Crowley. Pastor, Jerard Morgan, her grandson, will be officiating the services. Interment will be in the Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery in Indian Bayou, La. She was a kind, generous, nurturing, loving, strong-willed and hard working woman whose life were her children and grand children. She lived a long and simple life. She was our family matriarch and led by example. Besides her family her greatest loves in life were cooking and baking. She cooked thousands of meals and was known for her sweet dough pies. She sewed many missing buttons in her lifetime. She was a mother and grandmother to any kid who needed a mom. Her dog, Sockey, was like another child to her. The testament of a life well lived is the love she left behind and Mama transitioned from this life with amazing grace on enduring love. Special thanks to all who helped Mo-Mo fight this courageous battle against Alzheimer and cancer. We would like to extend our gratitude to Hospice of Acadiana for their attentive care. Ms. Agnes was born in Rayne, La. to Isaac and Agnes Menard Spell. She is survived by four daughters, Velma and husband, Darrell Romero of Crowley, Linda Duncan of Crowley, Venita and husband, Peter Vinn of Moss Bluff and Debra Morgan of Crowley; three sons, Joseph and wife, Lorraine Morgan of Crowley, Allen and wife, Denise Morgan of Lake Charles and Roger Morgan of Crowley; two sisters, Hazel Leon of El Paso, TX and Gloria Lachaussee of Abbeville; thirty grandchildren; seventy four great-grandchildren and seventeen great-great-grandchildren. Ms. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Elzie Morgan; one daughter, Dora Marie Bertrand; one son, Mitchell Morgan; one daughter-in-law, Shirley Morgan; one son-in-law, Tommy Duncan; two grandsons, Mike Cormier and Russell Miller; her parents, Isaac and Agnes Menard Spell; two brothers, LeRoy Spell and Clyde Spell. Pallbearers for her services will be Jimmie Romero, Dana Morgan, Jeffery Morgan, Christopher Vinn, Blaine Morgan, Charles Bertrand, Brent Morgan and Kyle Hebert.
