Death
Obituary: Funeral services for Violet Perry Gaspard, 70, will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at the Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley, LA.Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. Rev. Joe Talhelm, Pastor of Ebenezer Church of the Nazarene, will conduct the Funeral and the Committal service at Ebenezer Cemetery. Mrs. Gaspard was born August 14, 1936 to the late Asa and Oris Faulk Perry. She grew up in Crowley and later married Ernest Gaspard and lived most of their life in Indian Bayou. Violet was always active with her children and grandchildren. She babysat for many other young children in the Indian Bayou area. She was better known as Mo Mo Violet, She gave more than most people, she gave all of herself, her wealth was measured in friendship and her friends were to numerous to count. She is survived by three daughters, Darlene Gaspard of Rayne, LA, Brenda G. Dubois and her husband, Richard of Phoenix, AZ and Rhonda G. Brown and her husband, Eric of Scott, LA; eight grandchildren, Holly and Heather Gaspard, Krystal and Destynie Dubois, Kyle Brown, Holden Guillory, Myles Brown and Peyton Brown; four great-grandchildren, Ruben, Gabriel, Dannon and Violet Jane. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Vivian McFarlain and Dell Sykora and two brothers, William Perry and Donald Perry. Family wishes to thank Drs. Andrew Harwood and Mark Dawson and their staffs, Hospice of Acadiana, families, neighbors and friends. Our most humbled thanks. Violet's mother was Orice Faulk Perry the daughter of Mansel Faulk and Lillian Hoffpauir (Obit submitted by John Sarver)
