CROWLEY - Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 3, at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Willis Grady Foreman, 79, who died Friday April 29, 2005 in Lafayette. Father Rusty Richard will be officiating the Mass of Christian burial and the Ladies Altar society will lead the Rosary at 7 Monday evening. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Foreman, Rev. William Whited, James Hayes, Perry St. Raymond, Calvin Pohl, Olivia Pohl and Alfred Orilion. Mr. Foreman was a native of Indian Bayou and lived in Crowley after his retirement from the Merchant Marines. He loved his country and was proud of his service time, having served during WWII in the United States Navy. He served most of his time on the U.S. Yorktown in the Battle of the Coral Sea and the Battle of Midway. He was a young man of 17 years when his ship was hit and sunk. He was a member of the Harold Bosley Post 6720 of the VFW and also the Crowley American Legion Post 15. He is survived by his wife Yvonne Foreman, of Crowley, and his sister Elizabeth F. Hayes. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alcie and Mary Hoffpauir Foreman; his brothers, Paul, Lafitte, Aaron, Rhuel and Roy Foreman and sisters, Ollie Ronquillo, Edmae Sarver, Etta McCarty, Lelia Moncaux, Daisy Petry and Mabel Dupre. Visitation will be observed from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. until funeral services Tuesday morning. The family request any donations be made to the Parkinson’s Society.
