Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, in St. Theresa Catholic Church in Duson, with Father Leonard officiating, for Rosa Mae Trahan Spell, 57, of Duson. Mrs. Spell died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at 8:55 p.m. in her residence. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Burial was in the the St. Theresa Cemetery in Duson. She is survived by her husband, Wain Spell, Duson; three daughters, Tina Lavergne and Beverly Spell, both of Duson, and Barbara Spell, Eunice; six brothers, Wilton Trahan, Dalton Trahan, Wallace Trahan, Rodney Trahan, and Paul Trahan, all of Duson, and Carol Trahan, Carencro; two sisters, Delta Thibodeaux, Duson, and Linda Credeur, Carencro; and seven grandchildren, Jona Lavergne, Joshua Cormier, Blaze Cormier, Dylan Holzli, Chasity Lavergne, Emily Cormier, and Kaylan Holzli. She was preceded in death by one son, John Wayne Spell; her parents, Ethel Ablarado and Edney Trahan. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be sadly missed. Pallbearers were Jeffery Credeur, Carol Trahan, Darren Schexnayder, Sr., David Broussard II, Paul Trahan and Jobn Breaux. Honorary pallbearers were Curt Shane Lebouef, and D.J. Schexnayder.
