Although I have placed Susan with this family, it is significant to note that for her to have been born to this couple, she would have to have been born very late in the life of her mother (estimated age at least 45 years at the time of Susan's birth). Also, birth records for all of the other children appear in the SWLR-CD, but not for Susan.
In the 1860 Census, the wife of William Hoffpauir is listed as Suzane Walks, age 38. The only other "Walks" listed for St. Landry Parish in that census is Rachel, presumably the sister of Suzane, listed as 40 years old.
