Death

Obituary: GROVES -Vernell Hoffpauir left this world to be with the Lord after a long illness on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at Dubuis Hospital in Port Arthur, Texas. She lived a happy fulfilling life, her love for the Lord as well as for her family shined through like a bright shinning star. We will miss our loving mom, her beautiful smile and loving heart. She is the sunshine of our lives. Vernell was born on August 29, 1943 in Port Arthur, Texas to Vernon T. Morgan and Beulah M. Elmer Morgan. She was a lifelong Groves resident and member of Val Verde Baptist Church. She was the office manager with the Port Arthur News for 25 years. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 20, 2006 at Val Verde Baptist Church with Dr. Brent Stancil officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Trout Creek Cemetery near Kirbyville under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Vernell was preceded in death by her father, Vernon T. Morgan and sister, Karen Alexander. She is survived by her mother, Beulah Morgan of Groves; son, Patrick Hoffpauir of Groves; daughters, Summer Fuerstenberg and husband, Jim, Dana Johnson and husband, Mark, Shannon McGee and husband, Mike all of Groves; sister, Sue McBride and family; seven grandchildren, Chelsea, Joshua, Jonah, Jenna, Ariel, Taylor and Matthew all of Groves; three nieces, Karrie, Kim and Lynley.
