He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis, Sr. and Rita Theriot Bourliea. Paul, as he was affectionately known, was born on September 15, 1954 in Lafayette. He was a long time employee of Halliburton and Pathfinder/Schlumberger. He had a love for the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. There was not a bird call he didn't know and took much joy in learning about wildlife around him. He will be deeply missed. Pallbearers will be Bill Bourliea, Robert Bourliea, Stephen Bourliea, Rip Molbert, Ben Wimberly, and Tim Hoffpauir. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed Tuesday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. The family extends their gratitude to Consolata of New Iberia, Acadiana Rehab of Lafayette, Bridgeway Healthcare and Hospice of Lafayette, Joyce and Tamika who cared for Paul at his residence, and Mr. Robert Halphen; his ever so understanding and loving roommate at Consolata. A special thank you to his aunt Elta Viator, a resident of Consolata, who watched over Paul day and night while the family traveled to and from New Iberia.
