Obituary: NEW IBERIA - Funeral services will be conducted for Dorothy Viator Hoffpauir Fanning, 79, at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2006, at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. The Rev. Michael Arnaud will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visiting hours were observed Wednesday from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. with the recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. The funeral home will reopen today from 8 a.m. until time of services. A native of Jefferson Island and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Fanning passed away at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at Iberia Medical Center. Mrs. Dorothy owned and operated Dots Beauty Rama in New Iberia and has been a beautician for 46 years. She was also a licensed florist and a representative for Avon for the past 15 years. Most importantly, she was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her family and friends meant the world to her and she will be deeply missed by all. Survivors include her companion and dear friend, Elton "Pete" Perero, of New Iberia; her three children, Mandy Landry and husband, Keith, of Broussard, Tim Hoffpauir and wife, Jennifer, of New Iberia, and Debbie Bourliea and husband, Paul, of Broussard; seven grandchildren, Melanie Molbert and husband, Rip, Ryan Hoffpauir, Joe Landry and wife, Ashley, Megan Bourliea, Erin Hoffpauir, Rebecca Hoffpauir and Mary Landry; two sisters, Emily "Mim" Morvant, of New Iberia, and Betty Herndon, of Orlando, Fla.; and three brothers, Leonce "Speck" Viator Jr., of New Iberia, Eldridge "Boy" Viator, of Port Arthur, Texas, and Herman "Boonie" Viator, of Delcambre. She was preceded in death by her husband of 1st marriage and the father of her children, Joseph Hoffpauir; husband of 2nd marriage, Bill Fanning; parents, Leonce Viator Sr. and Mary Bergeron Viator; brother, Richard Viator; and sister, Wanita Romero. Pallbearers will be Joe Landry, Ryan Hoffpauir, Mark Romero, Paul Bourliea, Matt Romero and Rip Molbert. Honorary pallbearers will be her brothers, "Speck", "Boy" and "Boonie" Viator.
