RAYNE — Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Agnes P. Menard, 94, who died at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, at American Legion Hospital in Crowley. The Rev. Bill Ruskoski officiated the services. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery No. 2 Mausoleum. Valerie Andrus sang "Notre Pere," "Amazing Grace," "How Great Thou Art" and "Wind Beneath My Wings." Readers were Melissa Sellers and Annette Touchette. Giftbearers were Dolores Dupuis, Melanie Touchette and Trista Touchette. Her father, Francois Pellissier, was born in Auressieux, France. He came to Louisiana in 1879 with a cousin, Antoine Pellissier, Antoine's wife and their four children. Francois died when Agnes was only 8 years old. She was the last living child of Francois and Marie Delphine. Agnes is survived by her husband of 74 years, Antoine Menard; three daughters, Marie Habetz and her husband, Wenzel, Lula Mae Dupuis and her husband, Wallace, and Willa Mae Touchette; two sons, Frank Menard and Donald Menard and his wife, Nell; four grandsons, Robert S. Touchette and his wife, Annnette, Troy Touchette and his wife, Victoria, James Menard and his wife, Debbie, and Neil Menard and his wife, Kim; three granddaughters, Dolores Dupuis, Melanie Touchette and Melissa Sellers and her husband, Wilburn; one great-granddaughter, Trista Touchette; and five great-grandsons, Tony Menard, Quinton Touchette, Bennett Touchette, Dustin Sellers and Matthew Sellers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francois and Marie Delphine Pellissier; five brothers, Louis, Daniel, Antoine, Frank and Joseph Pellissier; three sisters, Philomene P. Bourque, Marie Louise P. Labbe and Francoise P. Hoffpauir; a son-in-law, Robert Touchette; and a daughter-in-law, Thelma C. Menard. Pallbearers were James Menard, Neil Menard, Tony Menard, Robert S. Touchette, Troy Touchette and Wilburn Sellers. Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of arrangements.
