CROWLEY - Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2003, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Crowley for Charlotte Chambers Mayeux, 71, who died June 5, 2003, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. The Rev. Gary Schexnayder will officiate at the services. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday. Visitation hours were observed from noon until 10 p.m. Friday and will continue from 8 a.m. today until time of the services. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Mayeux is survived by her husband, Louis J. Mayeux Sr., of Crowley; two sons, Louis "Buddy" J. Mayeux Jr. and his wife, Mari, of Crowley, and Charles M. Mayeux and his wife, Anna, of Cottonport; five daughters, Michelle Leger and her husband, Mitchell, Andree Brown and her husband, Mark "Boz" Brown, Jeanne Schmid and her husband, Kurt, and Yvette Hoffpauir and her husband, Harrell, all of Crowley, and Claire Kelbaugh and her husband, Keeffer, of New Orleans; 24 grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Cassidy, of Jennings; and one brother, Noble Chambers, of Crowley. Her parents, Noble and Anna Chambers, preceded her in death. Mrs. Mayeux was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. She was recently chosen as an Outstanding Volunteer for the American Cancer Society. Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley is in charge of the arrangements. (Daily Advertiser, 7 Jun 2003)
