CROWLEY - Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2003, at Northside Assembly of God, for Maureen Spell Broussard, 73, of Indian Bayou, who died at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at her residence. The Rev. Lloyd Singley will officiate. Burial will be in Indian Bayou United Methodist Cemetery in Indian Bayou. Survivors, all of Indian Bayou, include her husband, Clarence Broussard; one sister, Ruth Spell; and two brothers, Frank Spell Jr. and Edwin Spell. Mrs. Broussard lived in Baytown, Texas, from 1949 to 1989 for 40 years. In 1989, she moved to her native town of Indian Bayou. She sang in the Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God Church in Baytown, Texas, for 17 years. She was an avid gardener and loved her flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Marie Breaux Spell; four brothers, Tracy, Merl, Earl and Wilfred Spell; two sisters, Rose Spell Foreman; and Anez Spell Hoffpauir. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to services Thursday. Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley is in charge of arrangements. (Daily Advertiser, March 26, 2003)
