Obituary: Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2000, at the First United Methodist Church for Verna Hoffpauir Marx, 87, who died at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at Crowley American Legion Hospital. Reverend Bob Hollis, pastor of First United Methodist Church, will officiate for the services. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Sandy Crenshaw of Alexandria, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and several loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Marx was preceded in death by her husband, Frank G Marx Jr,; two brothers, Mike and Ben Hoffpauir; five sisters, Ida, Catherine and Grace Hoffpauir, Mae Carlin and Ethel Morgan; and four stepsisters, Etres Simon, Eva Dane Wyble, Mattie and Eula Devillier. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Frances McLean Circle of FUMC, past president and member of UM Women's Association, long time member and past Grand Noble of Rebekah Lodge #35, and a member of Wesley Fellowship Sunday School class. Pallbearers will include Buzzy, Michael and Will Crenshaw, Scott Boudreaux, Brett Hoffpauir and Corey Faulk. Honorary pallbearers will be Casey Faulk and Christopher Boudreaux.
