GUEYDAN - Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church for Stella Belle Stutes Sarver, 87, who died on Friday, July 2, 2004 at Crowley American Legion Hospital. Rev. Kemper Smith will officiate for the services with scripture readings by Randy Daily. The visitation will be observed on Tuesday, July 6, from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m., and will continue on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time. Interment will be in the Gueydan Cemetery. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Gayle Sarver Hair and her husband, William B., of Gueydan; one daughter-in-law, Bonnie Walters Sarver of Gueydan; five grandchildren, Monica Hair Norsworthy of Lake Charles, Kevin Dale Sarver of Youngsville, William Troy Hair of Gueydan, Melanie Dawn Sarver of Lafayette and Christine Sarver Armour of Memphis, Tenn. and nine great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mollie Faulk Stutes; her husband, Wilmer F. Sarver; two sons, Frank Darrell and Johnny Marion Sarver; four brothers and two sisters. Pallbearers will be William B. Hair, William Troy Hair, William Andrew Hair, Kevin Dale Sarver, Dinney L. Sarver, John Armour and Mark Norsworthy. Stella was a native of Ebenezer being born September 17, 1916 and a resident of Gueydan for the past 65 years. Matthews and Son Funeral Home of Jennings will be entrusted with the arrangements.
