Genoa Werth, 76, of Bridge City, died December 14, 2004, at her residence. Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Bobby Granger and Reverend Jim Hardwick. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Werth was born in Crowley, Louisiana and was a lifelong resident of Bridge City. She was a retired secretary for the Bridge City School District. She was also a longtime member of the Eastern Star and the First Christian Church in Orangefield. She was preceded in death by her brother, Winan Hoffpauir; granddaughter, Cynthia "Laughlin" Major; and great-grandson, John James Laughlin. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Werth of Bridge City; daughters, Linda "Ginger" Laughlin of Nederland, Johnnie Faye Werth and Roberta Green both of Bridge City and Susan Johnson of Groves; sons, George "Skipper" Werth of Montrose, Colorado and James D. Werth of Onalaska; brother, Doyce Hoffpauir of San Augustine; sister, Sylvia Smith of Groves; sixteen grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren.
