Marie Hoffpauir, age 84, of Pearland, Texas, passed away Friday, December 10, 2004, in Clear Lake Regional Medical Center, Webster, Texas. Mrs. Hoffpauir was born on May 26, 1920, in Poteet, Texas, and was a former resident of Alvin and was a recent resident of Pearland. Marie was a member of the nursing profession and was a member of the Baptist faith. Marie attended activities at the Alvin Senior Citizens Center and Alvin Memorial Gardens with her many friends. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Geneva Spradling; and by her sisters: Octavia Kinsley and Edna McMurtry. Survivors are son and daughterin-law, Robbie and Paula Wright of Manvel, Texas; daughters: Marge Wright of Houston, Texas, and Gladys King of Appleton, Wisconsin; sister, Betty Jo Spradling of Hope, Arkansas; brother and sister-in-law, William and Glenora Spradling of Hope, Arkansas; grandchildren: William Spradling, Vera Michelle Plant, Chris King, Jenny Moore, Misty Meehan and Melissa Clifton; greatgrandchildren: David Peters, Brittany King, Bridgette King, Amber Plant, Braden Clifton, Cotton Clifton and Hannah Moore; and numerous other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 18, 2004, at the Scott Funeral Home Chapel, 1421 E. Highway 6, Alvin, Texas, with Dr. Bruce Peterson, pastor of Southpark Baptist Church, officiating. Visitation at the funeral home will be at 10:00 a.m. prior to services. The family suggests that memorials may be made to: Alzheimer's Association, 11251 Northwest Freeway, Suite 300, Houston, TX 77092-9632 or to the charity of your choice.
