Burial
Obituary: John E. "Jack" Hoffpauir, Jr., 82, of Port Arthur passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Cypress Glen Nursing Home in Port Arthur. He was born July 29, 1927 to Maurine Futch Hoffpauir and John E. Hoffpauir, Sr. in Port Arthur, Texas. Jack served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1946. He graduated from Electrical Training School after 4 years. Jack retired as an electrician with I. B. E. W. Local #479 after 43 years of service. He was a longtime member of the local as well as First Baptist Church of Port Arthur. He was an avid fisherman, loved his family. Visitation will be on Friday, January 22, 2010 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral service will be at 10 A.M. Saturday, January 23, 2010 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson with Dr. Elvin Gibson, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jill Osborn. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Eloise Hoffpauir of Port Arthur, his daughter, Jane and husband Jerry Frasier of Port Arthur, his son, Don and wife Janet Hoffpauir of Nederland, four grandchildren, Staci Johnson, Amy Saltzman, Cpl. Brandon Hoffpauir and Duane Frasier, three great grandchildren, Caleb Vara, Colin Johnson and Logan Saltzman. He is also survived by his brothers Bobby Hoffpauir and his wife of Beaumont, Jeff Hoffpauir and his wife of Bridge City along with several nieces and nephews.
